Why Green Serpentine?

Green Serpentine is the name of the stone on our house.  We found out that it was quarried locally and there are only a handful of houses left in the area that have the stone.  I had never heard of it before but anyone from the area who knows about the house mentions it to us. We have found a church on Westtown Thornton Road made of it (pictured below).  There is another house on 926 but we can't find it.  There are also a few houses in downtown West Chester.

We really wanted a stone house but they are very hard to find.  The house is solid and very cool (despite not having air conditioning).  I was not a big fan of the green at first.  But I like that it is unique and has a history in Chester County.
