Phase 1 is complete, and so are my sneakers

I bought these sneakers when we were living in the city.  I became one of those women who wore dress clothes and sneakers, I know a very slippery slope.  But I was walking 2 miles a day to and from the office and after a year of wearing dress shoes, my feet were is so much pain I had to give in.  Since I wore black pants every day I figured black sneakers would not be to noticeable.  Afterall, I wasn't wearing skirts and white sneakers.

I wore these sneakers when we went to Maine and I climbed my first mountain.  I was so proud that day when I stood on top of the mountain and looked out over the beautiful landscape.  That was August 2010.  Before my Mom's brain tumor, before we sold the Loft, before we bought our Forever Home.

The sneakers then made the transition to the "Scary House".  For the past 5 months these sneakers have covered hundred of miles up and down our steps and latter as we cleaned, painted and removed wall paper.  Sometimes I try to get away with wearing my slippers around the house...that stopped after I slipped down the steps on the third floor walking into the servant quarters to see a recent roof leak, double whammy, ouch!

This week we officially completed "Phase I" in the house and with that I say good-bye to the sneakers that have supported me through miles of transition.

I promise the big reveals are coming soon...just some minor touch ups and cleaning left to do.  Stay tuned.....
