The question is "Will they make it?"...
We have been working on the house for 5 months now and sometimes it is hard to see the progress we have made. When I start cleaning a room for the first time, I think "why didn't I do this in August". Then I am reminded that our floors took 3 weeks to do and there was no point to cleaning prior to that. Where does the time go.
How many of you put parties on the calendar just to force you to do the things you never do...like clean wood work. Well we are taking on the ultimate challenge. We are hosting Christmas Eve for my father's family, Vince's family is coming in and staying the weekend at the house and we are hosting my Mom's family after the New Year. Talk about deadlines!!!
After 5 months of living in a construction zone, I am glad we have this pressure to get the house to Home status. Otherwise it might be another year and we would still be in that construction zone.
Of course when they told me yesterday our counter top did not arrive and would not be in till next Thursday I did have a slight panic attack. Luckily the lady I am working with had the freak out for me and they had it Fed-Ex and it should be here today for installation on Monday...fingers crossed.
Well I better stop blogging and get my butt to work.
So here are some pics on how the house looks today...1 week out. Tune in next week to see if we make it.

Andrea and Vince--It was nice to meet you last night, and talk about your home!! What a wonderful house, full of history (more to be uncovered) and charm and potential. The wall covering in the dining room is amazing, and more beautiful than I imagined as you were talking about it!! Continued good luck on the renovations, and hope your Christmas and New Years comes off without a hitch!! Wait, without a hitch?? Doubtful, but with your family there, you are sure to start the beginnings of many wonderful family memories!!
